FOSSIL AMMONITES SAWN 1
Ammonites in the broad sense, or Ammonoidea, are an extinct subclass of cephalopod molluscs. They appear in the fossil record during the Devonian and disappear shortly after the Cretaceous-Paleocene crisis. They were characterized by a univalve shell more or less coiled of which only the last lodge was occupied by the animal, the other lodges being used to control its flotation; the siphon connecting them is in the external (ventral) position, along the wall, whereas it is axial in the nautiluses. Their fossil shells are excellent chronological markers. Their size ranges from a few millimetres to more than 2 meters in diameter.

ROUGH ST AAA QUARTZ AMETHYST CLUSTERS
Amethyst is a well known mineral and gemstone. It is the purple variety of the mineral Quartz, and its most valuable and prized variety. Its name derives from the Greek “amethystos”, which means “not drunken”, as Amethyst in antiquity was thought to ward off drunkenness. The color of some Amethyst specimens from certain localities slowly fade upon prolonged exposure to light. When used as a gemstone, Amethyst is often heat treated to deepen the color, or to transform it into Citrine.
Chemical Formula SiO2
Composition Silicon dioxide. Its purple coloring is usually caused by impurities of iron or manganese compounds.
Color Light to dark purple. Sometimes banded with purple and whitish lines. May also be mixed together with Citrine.
Streak White
Hardness 7
Crystal System Hexagonal

ROUGH ST AAA QUARTZ CELESTITE GEODE
Celestite (also known as Celestine) is an attractive mineral that forms in well-shaped crystals with a distinctive soft blue color. Crystals may be a solid color, but may also have lighter and darker color zones of blue. While pure Celestine is colorless, various impurities give this mineral a wider range of colors, especially its celestial blue color. Celestine geodes of large, deep sky-blue crystals are well-known and abundant from Madagascar.
Chemical Formula SrSO4
Composition Strontium sulfate, sometimes with small amounts of barium
Variable Formula (Sr,Ba)SO4
Color Blue, white, colorless, orange, orange-brown, light brown, yellow, greenish-blue, gray. Crystals may also be slightly multicolored, with light blue on one end and colorless on the other.
Streak White
